Who wants to go? We do!
As retirees, living on Social Security, adventurous trips don't come easy. But, what if the trip pays for itself? Yup. We are going to un-retire for the summer, take the scenic ALCAN highway to Fairbanks, and get a job.
We are not going to just get any old job. No siree. We are going to work at Gold Dredge 8. Gold Dredge 8 is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Guests to the site learn about the hard-working miners who built Fairbanks. Allen will work as a train engineer and Terri will help guests pan for gold.
We want to share our trip with others. Come along for the ride by reading our ongoing blog posts. We expect that it is bound to be an adventure of a lifetime.

Yes, we know "who is us" is not grammatically correct. That's because we want this to be fun and a bit out of the ordinary. We, Allen & Terri, are a couple in our early-60s. We have a very excellent marriage indeed. We retired from ministry and moved from New Hampshire to Washington in 2021. We have six grown children that we love and enjoy. Their kids are pretty awesome as well.
